I Need A New Eyeshadow Base!

I'm soooo upset right now. :( The Maybelline Cooling Effects Shadow/Liner pencils I've been using for YEARS are now discontinued and no longer carried at any store around me. :(((((

I have no idea what the hell to use now, so I need suggestions please! I can't use the NYX jumbo pencils because they crease on me. I always use UDPP first then my base, then shadow on top, so I need a base that will be a sticky base for the shadow to cling to, and something that will be creaseless because UDPP creases on me. :/ Basically, I have insanely oily lids, and that was the only product I've ever had that worked for me. Ugh!

Any help would be greatly appriciated, I don't care how much it costs, as long as it is 100% crease proof!

Thank you so much in advance!

  1. I wish I had a good recommendation, but I don't :( Email me with what color(s) of the pencils you use and I'll look around in my area to see if I can find any! My only other suggestion would be the Evil Shades Spectrum Pots. I have one of them and have used it a few times. Doesn't seem to crease like the NYX pencils.

  3. I have really oily lids too and I used Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. Sadly you can't use it with mattes and satins but it's AMAZING for sparkly shadows. I've heard that Darling Girl's Glitter Glue is a great foiling agent/base for sparkly shadows and even matte shadows. Urban Decay also carried some new eyeshadow sticks that don't crease. I haven't tried those either but I read some reviews that say they work really well. I agree with Peachy about the spectrum pots as well.

  4. Darling Girl's Glitter Glue is a awesome foiling product also as LASplash eyeshadow base/sealer . The UD eyeshadow pencils are amazing , they don't crease on me ( i have oily lids too ) but they dry completely once you blend them so you don't have a sticky base (at least in my experience :D ). Maybe if you put 2 layers on , i don't know . Do you have GOSH in the States ? They have a very good eyeshadow base stick !

  5. Jill- Thanks for the suggestion, I was considering those and wondering what they were like. :) Aww thank you that's so sweet, if I can't find anything I'll email you about it. :D
Porcelaine- Yes, they were discontinued in 2004/2005, but all of the Rite Aids around me kept stocking them in. They were so amazing, weren't they?! Such a shame. :(
Pixie- Femputer also suggested the DG Glitter Glue so I may have to pick that up, and I went into Sephora today and almost bought the UD pencil so I may go back for one of those too. Thanks! :)
Luna- No unfortunately no GOSH over hear (that I know of) but thanks for the suggestions! :D

  7. ARGH! Don't you hate it when they discontinue your favourite products!!?? I have started using the NYX Jumbo Pencils and they crease on me as well unless I apply a very thin layer of them.

  8. Hello! A bite late but I use the Vegan primer for oily eye shadow by All Natural Face and I love it, makeup stay all day long with this base (and it usually don't on me!)

Hope this can help if you still need it :o)
