Rainbow (Need I Say More?)

This is from over a month or so ago, because I'm not a big fan of it. I really wish my brows didn't look so terrible in this. I also wish I took pics before I went to work instead of after, because my face wouldn't have looked so oily. =/

Regular face stuff, cheeks are Hard Candy blush in Pin Up
Nothing on lips
Eyes are:
Bloody Mary eyeshadows in red, orange, yellow and green
Sally Girl single shadow in Turqoise
Hard Candy Ab Fab duo (purple half)
Regular liner and mascara

Sorry, I really haven't been feeling well and I don't feel like typing up a thingy for my LOTD today. :p

Holiday Collections From My Favorite Companies!

WARNING: LONG POST!

I'm a super dork for holidays. I seriously prepare ALL YEAR for them, and often celebrate and leave my decorations up year-round as well. I get so damn happy and excited when I see holiday limited edition items from places it makes me squee! Just thought I'd post a list of stuff available for a limited time only from my favorite companies/ones that I whole heartedly reccommend. I'll also put my thoughts beside them, and if I want/am going to get them. :) Just 'cuz.

Let's start with scents, because that list is easier/shorter, hehe:

-x-x-x-x-x-x-

The Morbid The Merrier:

Perfume Oils, $12 each for 5ml:

"KRINGLE - A well-laden table... candied yams, creamy ginger, a punch of cinnamon, and a strong underscore of early grey."
Yum! Must have!

"NOELIA - Definitely on the naughty list this year. A trio of sweet baby roses, smashed and marred with black vetiver and sooty black tea."
I'm not a fan of flower scents, so I don't think I'll be getting this unless I try just a sample or something.

"FELIZ - Candied fruit, pipe smoke, sweet-bread, coffee swirled with milk, cinnamon and chocolate, and of course, poinsettia blooms."
Sounds pretty interesting, there's a lot going on here which makes me think this is a complex blend. However, not at the top of my list. Would like to try it just to see because I'm quite curious though. :)

"GRISWOLD - Aunt Edna's super swirl jello (complete with pineapple chunks....thankfully devoid of cat food topping), a tiny whiff of Eddie's cologne, essence of tree-dwelling varmints, and the most bad-ass Douglas Fir you ever did see. *Blindingly* fun. Get it soon - it'll be gone in two shakes of a squirrel's tail."
This is probably the one I'm most excited about, I want it sooo bad!

"THE DEATH OF THE OLD YEAR: Tuberose darkened by black moss, balsam of peru, and frankincense. The memory of Winter entertwined with the birth of Spring."
I don't know WTF half the smells in the description are, haha. Sounds floral? I love frank though, so I'm kinda on the fence about this one.

"HEARTH: Cozy, warm, and bittersweet. Clove spiked oranges, orange blossom tea, crackling flames and sooty ash."
Sounds divine, I *heart* warm scents, mmm!

"WINTER WOOD: An icy winter morning. Cold, wet wood, damp leaves, and a slight sting of tangy citrus fruit."
Flowers + citrus = no go for me, but I know there are some people who are going to be stoked about this one!

Lip Balms- ALLEGORY, 10 different scents, $4 each:

"Spiced Pear, Lavender and Honey, Passionfruit, Banana Coconut, Caramel Latte, Cherry Cordial, Tangerine Mint, Rootbeer Float, Winter Mint and Circus Peanut."
Would like to get Cherry Cordial, Spiced Pear and Caramel Latte, all of which sound so yummy.

-x-x-x-x-x-x-

One Hand Washes The Other (Artfire Shop, Etsy Shop):

Private Stock Scents, Oils $9 each for 5ml:

"The Ghost of Christmas Past: this was going to be named "remembrance" but I like this name better. A bouquet of white flowers, spiked with miniature pomanders, laid down in remembrance, and the light caress of winter's icy breath... or was it? Lilies, Clove, Hyacinth, Orange Blossom, Tangeringe, Amyris, and Peppermint."
Not sure why... but I'm pretty interested in this one. The notes don't sound like anything I'm normally into but Becca is awesome in a way that she makes me like things I normally don't... this one seems like no execption.

"And a Partridge in a Pear Tree: I may have been unable to come up with any scent inspiration for 11 lords a leaping or 5 golden rings, but a pear tree? Heck yes. Bartlett Pears, Olive Leaves, Violets and Lychee, because I don't know what a partridge smells like, but I imagine lychee smells better than a partridge."
Ah-ha, there she goes again! I've always wonder what lychee smells like... maybe now's a good time to try it?

"Reunion: It's like waking up and going downstairs to grandma's kitchen on Christmas morning, pancakes cooking, eggnog, and faint whiffs of pine needles, warmed by twinkling lights. Pancakes, Butter, Cream, Nutmeg, and a dash of Whiskey and Balsam Pine."
MUST HAVE! This sounds amazing, and is at the top of my list to try!

"Chestnuts Roasting: Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. A cup of holiday cheer. And the teensiest sliver of Aunt Judy's pumpkin pie. Ah, the holidays. Chestnuts, Brown Sugar, Pumpkin Spice, Rum, and a Crackling Fireplace."
My fav sounding one out of the "nut" scents this holiday season, I'm going to try to pick this one up.

"Sugar Plum Tippler: And you thought you knew everything there was to know about the Sugar Plum Fairy! She's got some rather unseemly habits, but hey- we all have our secrets! Available ONLY in 5mL perfume bottles or 1mL samples, and quantity is super-limited. Sweet Ripe Plums, Sugared Violets, Almond, Tobacco, Grapefruit, Vanilla, Jasmine and just enough Cognac to take the edge off."
Not really interested, and don't know why...

Stock scents, oils $8 each for 1/3 oz:

"Peppermint Cocoa: Like a candycane in your hot chocolate, this wintertime treat is smooth and creamy but brisk at the same time. Cocoa, Vanilla, Peppermint."
Another must have for me, I've been looking for someone to come out with this forever! Will be getting some ASAP.

"Balsam Apple: The perfect blend of apple and balsam pine, this is a Christmas Tree scent that isn't all sappy and prickly. Seriously, I was going to blend something like this myself so when I found it had already been done, I ordered it and I don't think I could have done a much better job- this is a new holiday favorite. Juicy Apple, Bright Cassis, Pine Needles, Jasmine Petals, Cedarwood, Cinnamon Bark, Siberian Fir."
Not really a fan of most of the notes here, I think I'll be skipping this unless just a sample to try.

*NOTE: You can also get any of these scents in most of her other products as well, check individual listings for details!

Solstice Scents:

Go HERE for scent descriptions.
Go HERE for a list of products they're available in.

Perfume Oils, $9 each:

"ROASTED CHESTNUTS & MARSHMALLOW: This is seriously one of those that you want to take a taste of. The scent of soft, slightly nutty roasted chestnuts and a faint wisp of sweet spice coupled with creamy fluffy marshmallows. Mouth watering."
Not too exciting, think I may skip unless I sample it.

"BAYBERRY: In Colonial times, candles were made from the wax of Bayberries as a favorably scented alternative to tallow. It was tiresome work as it took pounds of berries to yield just one pound of wax. Bayberry is a traditional element of the Yule and Christmas celebrations. It is not a coniferous plant, yet it smells of pine alongside subtle sweet berry notes, without the sharp top notes of pine oil. Bayberry smells of winter and is a wonderful fragrance to have in your home for the holidays. Light a Yule log, huddle near the hearth and use your Bayberry soap on Solstice Night!"
Again, same as above.

"GINGERBREAD COOKIES & VANILLA CREAM: Bakery notes of molasses, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla bean coupled withNutmeg and Cinnamon. A delicious scent to warm your spirit and senses through the cold winter nights."
Must have! I'm honestly obsessed with gingerbread anything. Will try to get multiple products in this scent.

"RICE PUDDING & RUM SOAKED RAISINS: Warm rice pudding with a toasty slightly buttery scent coupled with soft spices, a little brown sugar, a pinch of vanilla and just a tiny hint of spiced rum soaked raisins. A comforting dish for cozying up next to hearth."
At first this sounded really gross to me, now I reaaaally want it.

"GINGERDEAD MAN: Gingerbread Cookies crash into a dark earthy corruption of Patchouli, Vetiver and Earth Musk...delicious...and deadly."
MUST HAZ NAO! I got a sample of this in my last order, and oh man I'm drooling over this. This is something my mind could have only dreamed of. Will by getting this one fo sho.

"SPIKED NOG & NUTMEG: A blend of delicious creamy egg nog, a wee splash of rum, cinnamon and a few sensible drops of Nutmeg essential oil. Just like egg nog, it is not too sweet, but just enough to give this fragrance depth and body. Absolutely delicious and smells pretty close to the real thing!"
Muuuuust hhhaaaaveeee. I adore egg nog, which is one of the many reasons there's no way in hell I could ever go vegan. This blend sounds SO yummy.

New Layout!

Hope you like my new holiday layout. :)

Mini Solstice Scents Haul and Quick Review

I have a super mini haul to share with you guys that came in the mail literally about 3 hours ago. A very special goodie from one of my favorite shops, Solstice Scents.

Last week, I reviewed six different scents I bought a little while back from the fall collection. There was one very limited perfume I had wanted to get in full size, but alas when I read Angela's blog post that she had ran out and didn't know if she'd be able to bring any back due to supplier limitations, I was so disappointed. Then last week she posted a new blog that she had made ONE more batch of the perfume, and it was posted in the shop on Etsy already. I quickly snatched one up and eagerly waited for its arrival, and yay! It came already! What a perfect way to cheer up a shitty Monday. :)

"Jack and The Devil is part trick, part treat and all Autumn Delight! A blend of sweet Vanilla Absolute, dried brown Tobacco Leaf (absolute), green and delightful Oakmoss Absolute, Warm Amber, 2 different kinds of Patchouli Essential Oil, Sugared Golden Pumpkin and subtle Spices."

Sooooo, yeah. I love this even more than I thought I would. I put just a teeny bit on my wrist as soon as I opened my package (everything safely arrived in a bubble mailer) and have not been able to stop sniffing it since. Dark spicy smells are by far my favorite, and this blend is just perfect. The tobacco is the main note (from what I can smell, anyways) and it's just lovely. This is a great unisex perfume.

I swear she must be able to read minds because the free sample I got was Gingerdead Man, the "Yule" scent I was most excited to try.

"Gingerbread Cookies crash into a dark earthy corruption of Patchouli and Vetiver Essential Oil and a Woodsy-Earth Musk...delicious...and deadly. Scent is primarily that of warm gingerbread cookies laying on top of the other 3 components that serve to temper the sweetness a bit and add depth. It is NOT a supremely heavy blend despite the use of patchouli and vetiver. Both are detectable but not overwhelming. This is perfect for those of you who like your foodie blends a little darker."

Uhm, yes, that would be me. :D Mmm, just delicious! Something you guys may or may not know about me... I'm OBSESSED with gingerbread men! I love the smell, sight, taste... and this scent is right up my alley. Will be buying a full size as soon as I get paid. :p

Have you guys ever tried anything from Solstice Scents? Anything interest you? Thoughts?

Really Old FOTDs I Didn't Want to Post

These all make me LOL, but I had to share them with you guys. :D I'm too lazy to post what I used, and to be honest for most of them I have no fucking clue. If you ask though, I'll try my best to answer. :D

Solstice Scents Perfume Review

I'm still a little sick, but I can at least smell again and I've been wearing my recent smelly goods non stop. First up to review, now that I've worn all 4 perfumes I bought, is Solstice Scents!

I placed my order on November 2nd via their shop on Etsy, and recieved my package on the 5th. Uhm... whoa.

Everything came very well packed in a small box with loads of cute orange and black shredded paper inside as packing, and the bottles were shrink wrapped. The four full sized bottles I bought were in a black organza bag, and in a smaller clear ziplock baggie were two free samples, which were very generous. Also in the box was several different business cards as well as a hand-written note. Shipping for my entire order was only $3.

The scent descriptions, with my thoughts under them:

Pumpkin Spice Latte

"The perfume is a blend of coffee essential and fragrance oils, sweet pumpkin, gingerbread whipped cream, cinnamon and a drop of nutmeg essential oil. Upon application, coffee is the first note to emerge, immediately followed by a spicy cinnamon. After just a few minutes a sweet syrupy scent emerges. The true dry down scent rises after about 15 - 20 minutes on the skin at which point the spice mellows and the coffee, pumpkin and cream all perfectly swim together in a pleasingly balanced brew. This is a very warm scent that is going to be awesome to have on hand first cool day of fall!"

Mmm, this is one of the dead on descriptions! Just like walking into the corner coffee shop during fall. I want to eat it! :p

Harvest Moon

"This is my own special, unique, handcrafted blend straight from the heart of one that yearns all year for the magical feeling that the fall-time brings. Apple, spices, pumpkin, squash and buttery roasted chestnuts."

This one wound up being my favorite. It's literally my Gram's house during the holidays. I love this so much, and I know this is probably going to be my most worn one of the bunch. This scent has officially made it into my top 10 favorite perfumes of all time.

Fright Night

"FRIGHT NIGHT is a cavity inducing blend of sugared Halloween sweets, smelling similar to a Halloween candy pail. Sweet candy corn, chocolate candy wrappers, melty gooey marshmallows, sticky caramels, black jelly beans and more. This scent starts off with a little burst of black licorice that mellows quickly. Dry down is a soft blend of various candies, worn close to the skin but long lasting."

Again... I want to eat it! Smells just like Tootsie Rolls, taffy and caramel in a giant pot.

Monster Mash

"Monster Mash is a soap I carried last Halloween. This same great fragrance is now available in a perfume. I tried to capture what I think a bunch of Monsters hanging out together would smell like. It is a blend of the Mahogany paneled walls in Dracula's castle mixed with a background note of musk and some other dark and mysterious incense smoke and spice. Notes are Mahogany Wood, Amber, Vanilla Bourbon, Tonka Bean, Cedarwood and Apple Wood combine with Essential Oils of: All Spice, Black Pepper, Sandalwood and Cardamom. All these scents meld together to create a dark, rich wood with a hint of sweetness and a pleasing spice note."

I really wasn't sure if I'd like this or not... but it's really quite nice. A little strong and heady at first, but it mellows out to a very dark romantic kind of fragrance.

I then recieved two free samples, which I'll go ahead and review now:

Conjure

"Conjure is part of The Ancients Collection. It is a very soft and magical blend consisting of mild non-foody slightly incensey vanilla, golden amber and fresh cut cedar with a faint wisp of cauldron smoke, allspice EO, Sandalwood EO, Rose EO, Rosewood EO and clove EO and a pinch of champa flowers. The main notes are the amber, vanilla, woods and faint all spice. If you're a fan of Spellbound Woods, you will probably enjoy this one as well. It is a different, fuller and richer fragrance, however, but it's not a "loud" type of scent, but rather a smooth and mild one. It is very sexy, mysterious and intriguing. I love this one."

I love it too. It's what I'd imagine a witch's home to smell like... lots of smoke, incense, spice and everything nice. Need I say more?!

Spellbound Woods

"Spellbound Woods is magical blend of alluring vanilla, sandalwood, amber and cedarwood. It is amazingly soft, light and sensual...not overpowering at all. It is softly sweet from the vanilla, but not in a buttercream foody kind of way. It is a nice unisex scent and smells like a light, very mild incense. It is also one of my "crowd favorites" and a top seller. A soft vanilla is the strongest note to me, laying on a bed of very mild and delicious woods. This scent is pure magic."

Magical indeed! I wore this while walking my dogs around the street with the leaves and freshly layed rain and damn... I felt like I was in dreamland.

I find it rather funny that she sent me samples of perfumes I was going to try anyways! I now know I do NEED them in full size, hehe.

Each full sized perfume is either $9 or $12, and her samples are $2.50 or $3. She also sells a slew of other products including soaps for under $5, body sprays for around $11, body butters for about $9 and so much more. I can't really try some of these because of my burn scars, but they all sound lovely! :D

Customer service is great and Angela is very nice to talk to. She responded quickly and was great to help.

Would I order again?
Already have! (More on that to come)

One Hand Washes the Other Haul and Initial Thoughs!

Going to try to do this quickly because it's 1 AM and I only have four hours to sleep. >.> I ordered some halloween goodies on the 31st and they came about three days ago, so shipping was pretty fast as there was only two days transit time. The box was just beautiful, the tape was clear with purple flocked print and had a stamp of a two toned leaf with a key on top. So festive!

Everything came in this here little box inside various sized black and purple organza bags, with packing peanuts in as well. The items I got were all shrink wrapped, but Becca is doing away with this to save processing time and reduce waste, so just a little heads up. ;) She takes such good care of all of her items to make sure they ship safely I don't think anyone should have issues with this anyways.

Look at all of the fun little goodies! Eek I was grinning the whole time I was going through my box... it was like a box of treasures.

I got solid scents of all the fall/halloween smellies, plus a 1/3 oz roll on of Coven.... which is AMAZING! Zomg words cannot express how much I love this perfume, but I'll post more on that in the full review, ya know, once I get time. o.o She was also so kind as to send in two solid samples in Pomegranite and Oak, and Lemon Sugar. Mmm... fruity smells are some of my favs and these don't disappoint. Soooo good, and Lemon Sugar is a new scent to her line so I'm lucky enough to be one of the first people to sniff it. ;) Hehe. I really cannot wait to do a write up on these! Yum!

Zoya Haul and Swatches!

Yay, they came in! :D

In a FedEx box with peanuts and two smaller boxes inside, with a paper invoice and that cute little book that has color swatches inside! Pretty coolio, yo.

The two little boxes have dividers inside to keep the bottles from knocking together while in transit... which I think is a very good idea.

L-R: Edyta, Midori, Richelle, Roxy, Lillith

L-R: Reece, Norra, Anastasia, Adina, Zara

Zara, Richelle, Edyta, Midori

Adina! Holy fuck this is pretty!

Edyta on top, Midori on bottom

Reece

Roxy, Norra, Lillith

The brown shift in Anastasia

Most of my polishes and how I store them. I currently have 105 nail polishes, but only a few aren't pictured. :p

My thoughts on each one:
Zara: This honestly is now in my top 10 favs of all time, it's sooooo amazing!
Adina: I knew I'd love this! Ugh, so beautiful.
Richelle: I think this gold is PERFECT for my skintone.
Edyta: So many different shades of microglitter in this one... it's such a complex shade.
Midori: Probably the least exciting of the bunch, but still an awesome color.
Lillith: This is everything I hoped Orly "La Vida Loca" would be, but better.
Roxy: Pink with glitter, need I say more?
Anastasia: I ended up liking this more than I thought I would, and the brown makes it a good, rich shade.
Reece: Mmm, I love colors with gold shift so much!
Norra: My mom fell in love with this as soon as she saw it, and she's not into dark shades. That should tell you something!

Zoya is my favorite brand for duochromes, they are always A+ in my book, and these are all only 2 coats besides Zara, so the formula is great too. :D Try them if you haven't already! You won't be disappointed!
